When I had my art gallery..the building was
HUGE
I painted 3 way bigger than life portraits on one wall
(my version)
Mona Lisa
The Kiss
and
Grace with a Faceless Baby
I didn't know it was Grace with a Faceless Baby until Mattie walked in and asked
"why did you paint Grace with a faceless baby?"
the next year...she had a baby
I have been accused of being
touchy with the other side
So...this Sunday afternoon, while drinking
hubs (who is more in touch with the other side)
built me a canvas
out of
paint and wood
my inspiration
Jena Lee at her bridal shower
and way more than that
of course I have to crop all photos of fat bodies and old folks of people (me)
one thing I never do
change or wash my brush
I know
W.E.I.R.D.
I use a big one, a little one, and a long one
she's so pretty there is just no way I can paint her
it has to be an illusion of her
that is best seen from
OHIO
and btw..
I also painted at the gallery
The Creation of Adam
but I had to cover up his (you know what)
because my art kids asked questions
about why I painted that apple
YOU KNOW WHERE
folks..
that is why I drink
it seems my work looks better with...
may I pour you a glass before you
critique?

No critique here - I think she is beautiful in reality and in your vision. Some people are just to lovely to "capture" completely in any medium other than real true bright and happy, vivid life.
BTW....too lovely - too lovely - I really do know the proper usage of to, too and two - sometimes I just get so excited my fingers dash ahead of my brain.
That was so cute and sweet and your painting and she are beautiful. Thanks so much for visiting me-I am having tons of trouble with following, GFC will not allow me to. Last few months by blog roll was broke. I am thankful I can post most days. Big Hugs, Olive
I think she wonderful!
You're talented and funny at the same time. Cheers!
Oh, how I wish I had your gift. The gift for painting, I mean. I have the gift of drinking wine! ~ Maureen
Oh I have no talent when it comes to art. That is nice! =)
What a beautiful painting. You are very talented!
Mary Alice
Artistic and witty...what a great combination!!
I love your 'unwashed brush' technique. You work in completely the opposite way the way Lucien Freud did.
Apparently he would continually remix fresh colour and reclean the brush for each brushstroke especially when painting skintone.
They also told me all these other cool facts about him in the gallery but I was really hungry so all I heard was sandwich, sandwich, sandwich, sandwich, sandwich!
Just my two-penneth as they say in these here parts!
Nice painting by the way.
to be artistic & creative *sigh* :)
Your painting is a beauty, an impression is always better than an exact replica anyway!
And wine really does make the heart happy too...now I want to drink wine and paint! Aw...sweet summer!
Mother, you make my heart very warm and full. She is a beautiful woman... Both in your painting and the woman I have the privilege waking up to every morning. Thank you for being so thoughtful to us. We're dying to know, shall the painting reside above the mantle of our bedroom of 822, or somewhere different?
