PURA VIDA
pure life
I was in a wreck on Thursday that was not my fault and I totaled my car
We had our family Christmas this weekend and it was fun
My brother is here to visit
My baby brother has a new girlfriend
Our new daughter Jena is having morning sickness
Coach Been's team lost
Grace went to California to the art gallery opening of David Caruso
we watched Betty
This morning as I held this precious life close to me and waited on her mom to come pick her up for school
I watched a couple on tv talk about what their precious baby wore to school Friday
including sparkly ugs...just like Betty has...a bouncy ponytail and a bright happy smile
and that when she found out she was gone
she went home
and crawled back into the bed that her 6 year old had just left
Pura Vida will pause to pray for this unspeakable loss
and to give thanks for the life and gifts
that have not been
taken
from us

It's horrible. I still can't believe it happened.
This is one of the times I am glad I don't have TV and can't see the grieving parents. May we never again have such an awful reminder of how fleeting life is and how much we should treasure it!
I hope you are ok too!
Well said, my friend. I've turned the news off - can't bear to shed any more tears.
Taking a break from blogging tomorrow for The Bloggers Pause for Silence.
Hope you're okay after the car accident!!
No words... just sharing the deep sorrow!
Un hecho trágico,
Muchas victimas y también heroes.
Realmente hay que reflexionar porque se llega a este punto.

I hope your feeling better and so sorry about the wreck...I hope you and your family have a wonderful holiday....and yes this country does need prayer....
Just stopping by for a quick visit as I realized I'd missed your last two posts.. I'm supposed to be un-plugged:) for a week to focus on family.
I am so sorry to read this Gina. Thank God you seem to be physically okay although I'm sure you are a bit shaken up from the scary experience.
Regarding the horrific recent event.. we will all say a prayer this Christmas Eve.. sending love to these poor families that will never recover from their loss. They will simply learn to live with it and the pain will be there forever. One asks WHY? does this happen and the tendency is for lots of finger pointing.
Individuals that commit horrific acts are deeply disturbed, feel isolated, and either have not received the help they need or have chosen not to accept help. It's unfortunate that our laws don't allow us to intervene UNTIL it's often to late(for fear of "labeling" or "profiling" an individual.
A strong family unit (extended family included) is essential. Much of our youth is being raised by single parents or one's that are absent.
I can tell you are a strong women with character, good morals and values..
Wishing you are blessed Christmas and a healthy and happy new year.
