Betty refers to this bathroom as
"the ugly bathroom"
because it needs such major work
(mostly the removal of an ugly brown tub)
it has found its way to the last of the
to-do-list
but that doesn't keep me from trying to make it the best it can be until then
I put my thinking cap on and guys...literally...spent no money
as I just used leftovers from other projects
when cute carpenter guy told me that a shower re-do could be around
$3000
I said
NOT
at least not here not now!
my inspiration
we cut down a few trees here and there
do you not just love love this wormy old stump?
I have several of them and just asked
cute tree trim man to cut them real straight for me
I was going for a happy place
I'm not a Buddhist nor do I worship other Gods
but I find these two sprites kind of fun
one thing I do believe in though--and that's
reflexology
squeeze big toe for brain
so Mr. PV took the leftover rock from the master shower and put it on the shower floor
right over the existing tile
then after grout I sealed it for a shiny look
2-4 times
it takes a day or two to dry
I added a few shiny chrome elements
and did not hesitate one little bit to leave that old person handle bar
ok...I am old now,
but after having 3 c-secs, 1 tubal reversal, 1 tibial plateau fracture
and episodes of drinking mimosas in the shower
trust me...that thing can be a jewel... even for the young
I love this shower door..it reminds me of a man's suit and was in perfect condition
jewel
(for when in doubt...mimosas)
fun chrome stuff and fun bath stuff
fun cedar tree stump in the shower
to set stress relief products on
and when in doubt...
a mimosa(s)
lots of fluffy white towels that smell like a spa
lots of cute soaps
and your ugly old 1976 shower is not quite so bad
Coach Been informed me that he has very tender feet
so I will probably try to find him some wooden shower shoes next time I go to World Market
because I heart him and his feet
this is the master shower--reflexology here too
so...we now have 3 showers with rock floors
and one with marble
for the tenderfoots and babes
imagine...dancing on tippy toes in the shower
I could be real smart after a while

G-R-E-A-T redo! Love, love, love that wormy stump turned shower accessory. Enjoy your Mimosa in your lovely new shower.
I LOVE the cedar tree stump idea!! Wow.
Big fan of reflexology, too! I love the stump in the shower...and I think I'd benefit from a shower 'jewel', too. I don't need mimosas to fall on my can! haha
Looks great, Gina. Have a good weekend!
Hello Gina:
You are certainly making the most imaginative use of what is readily to hand.
Making the most of it is a fantastic attitude! Please tell your husband he is a genius for thinking of the rock in the shower floor, I think it looks amazing!! The tree stump is Perfect too! great job!
I absolutely love it. It turned out just great!!! xo Diana
Love the stone floors! And the old person handle - need one of those for my bathroom.
Love the re-do! That stump is wonderful. And I bet that rock feels fabulous under foot. Didn't know anything about reflexology, but now I'm going to start squeezing my big toe!
Love the tree stump in there,
what a wonderful design idea.
Love you re-do.
I wondered if you can add a drop or two of that stress relief juice to a mimosa?!
P.S. I 'purchase' the very same Miller Harris soaps from housekeeping too. Good work soap ninja!
