WHAT IS YOUR STYLE?

 My mother wears orange lipstick
so do I
This is a large tapestry she gave me

I use it as a table cloth and sometimes on end of a bed as a throw
both sides are beautiful

yesterday the last of the indoor blooms...bloomed out, so I changed things up a bit--
the night before I was thinking about what kinds of things influenced me

this is a paisley table cloth
I also use it at the end of my couch

but I've been known to wear it over my shoulders as a shawl

the color orange definitely speaks to me
kalanchoe
(thank you my friend Tina...I love kolaches too!  fig! )

so as I pondered my style as I often do

I can't help but see a pattern here

Most people would say I was greatly persuaded by my neighboring state of
New Mexico...and I am for sure...but this old rock house seems to go much older than that

like Spain, or Morocco or ...well...I'm just not exactly sure

but the one thing I can say without hesitation is this

I am most certainly and unequivocally influenced by
Target
Hobby Lobby
World Market
Pier 1
and all the treasures that come my way via
estate auctions
...

the colors of my mother...

and that color that I cannot seem to get enough of!

Gina I would say my style is Classic with a touch a Asian or Chinoiserie. I love the deep oranges, and have a runner and table skirt embroidered in orange shades.I cannot wear orange lipstick though, must stick with the berries and even a bright red lifts my spirits!

Gina,
I think you and I share a love of the same inspirational color. It's in the dwellings of brick in Philadelphia and in the Tuscan landscape... your neighbor being New Mexico or wherever the rich hue hails it speaks to certain people.
Let's embrace the richness, warmth and beauty of it provides.
XO,
Vera

Oranges and corals are so cheerful...they make me happy. And all for coral/orange lipstick!

I do love orange - mainly because I associate it with autumn :)

My style is definitely traditional for my home. In fact, compared to all the beautiful colour in your home, its rather boring looking. But underneath I'm definitely not!

Deep corals and rusty reds are a basic for me, though there is some deep orange to be found here as well. We definitely live with color in our home. And if I wear lipstick, it is in the dark coral family, not red or pink.
Enjoyed your post. ;-)

I love your style. And, it could have a little something to do with the fact that orange is my favorite color!

I think my style is history. A place, a time, or a life tied up in a teacup or linens or piece of furniture. It all tells a story and I want to hear that story. Everything from my artwork to my sugar bowl has some meaning that maybe only I can feel, but it is what makes 'home' to me. I understand you loving your mother's colours.

What cheerful colors to warm up winter. I'm a bit of a scaredy cat to go with those colors but guess what? My Petunia is wanting to add corals to her room decor. :)

I have definitely had my tuscan orange/ terra cotta phase in the not too distant past believe it or not! You do it up well! Turned a littel cold, huh!?

Very pretty. It is wonderful that you love a certain color and it shows up in so many of your choices and gifts, and that it works together. I can tell from the collage of my bloglovin page that I like soft greens, grays, aquas, white: soft desert colors.

Oh so beautiful the different shades of orange in your home. They are warm and so inviting! I would say my style is traditional and I'm also influenced by hobby lobby Marshall's, pier one, Home goods and all those amazing stores.
The problem is wanting it all and storage ..
Have a great evening!
