THE NUTCRACKER

is a two-act ballet, originally choreographed by
Marius Petipa

Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky

Although the original production was not a success, the twenty-minute suite that Tchaikovsky extracted from the ballet was. The complete Nutcracker has enjoyed enormous popularity since the late 1960s and is now performed by countless ballet companies, primarily during the Christmas season.

I remember the first time I was "forced" to go see it, I had no idea
that I would soon want to make it a Christmas tradition.

Perhaps Bass Hall in Fort Worth, Texas was what was so intoxicating to me

I was smitten the first time I saw these matching angels

If you ever have a chance to see a performance here of any kind
you will be so glad you did
it is beyond lovely

It's priceless to watch this magical ballet
with a child
(this is my Betty with her best friend Acie just last week...they look like sisters)

This is the part where the snow falls from above
glittery and so real

and while you're in Fort Worth
be sure and visit the Gaylord for some winter time antics!

Holy Nutcracker Ya'll!

I have never seen it performed live, by professional dancers. I'd better move that up to the top of the bucket list!

We love the Nutcracker and I have granddaughters that have performed in local productions of it in years past. It is a beautiful performance for the holidays. Your little girls are very cute, Gina! xo Diana

We've taken our kids to the one in Boston several times. My 8 year old daughter loves it. Can't say the same for my 13 year old boy, but it's good for him :)

Good afternoon y'all! Oh how I cry when I see the Nutcracker. I danced and so many emotions roll up into one big sob when I see this, but now is the season for so many feelings. Gina, you are so beautiful! And thank you for coming to visit me....countless times.

PEACE! Anita

I absolutely love The Nutcracker. I took my niece to see it about 3 years ago. I'm waiting for my granddaughters to come along! What fun that will be! These two beauties, I'm sure, made it so worth it!

Love this! Thanks also for dropping and your nice comment!

Merry Christmas,
Bonnie

This brings back so many memories of heading to downtown Toronto to see The Nutcracker with my younger sisters and then with my own daughter and nieces. I'm waiting for a granddaughter to take!!

My sister took her children to The Nutcracker every year. I don't go every year, but I have taken my granddaughter, and it really is quite magical. I agree about Bass Hall, it is a wonderful place for any performance, But shame on me - I have not yet been to the Gaylord.
