REFLECTIONS

For a person who doesn't like looking in mirrors
I sure do seem to have a lot of them

I love what they reflect

usually this pedestal has a prayer candle on it
I love how the glimmer of the flame is reflected in the mirror

my friend Jolene told me once
"always place something lovely in front of a mirror...then you can see it two times"

mirrored night stands

an antique print of a young girl gazing in the mirror

my strange faced angel holds a broken mirror

I love to hang pretty jewelry from her

I even collect old compacts

the powder in this one is left intact
I love to think about the pretty woman who powdered her face and refreshed her lipstick
while looking into this...where was she off to....
and who was she about to kiss?

mirrors over the mantel

mirrors over the vanity

mirrors over the bed

I could look at those chandeliers over and over in this huge mirror

vintage mirrors

Hobby Lobby mirrors
 I heart Hobby Lobby

and I heart estate auctions

and estate sales

what you see is what you get
times two
I like that

Hello,

Mirrors do add sparkle to a room. They reflect light in many different kinds of ways so a room does, in our view, look much more interesting as a result. Your collection of mirrors looks wonderfully eclectic and they really do add an intrigue to each room in which they are placed.

We particularly like convex mirrors. One can see so much in them, no matter how small. Their original purpose was to be hung over the sideboard in a dining room so that the servants could see when to serve without looking directly at the dinner guests.

I have a lot of mirrors as well Gina! I love to find one that is really unique. I also like to see a good mix of both mirrors and works of art on the walls of a home!

I love all the different mirrors. I have an angel that is almost like your green one holding a lamb except mine is off white. She is not out right now, because I rotate items.

I love the reflections a mirror gives. It makes a small room look larger. I love all your reflections and the mirrors. Such pretty ones. The compacts are so beautiful! I love to think about the story behind them too. What a pretty post!

I can never pass up a mirror, the older the better. I love the old aged patina.
Thanks for giving us something to reflect on.
Hugs,

I don't think mirrors are a sign of vanity. I love them too. The bouncing light makes me happy. It lightens rooms and gives them mystery. I just saw an amazing room with an entire wall mirrored with one piece. They then framed around it and it made the room look soo big. In my favorite house, the previous owners had used mirror as a backsplash in the kitchen. I absolutely loved it. I used to pretend I was filming a cooking show when I baked. Ha!

I like the size of that mirror over the bed - perfect for this middle aged woman!!

Seriously though, that collection of gold mirrors and frames against the pink/purple wall is stunning!

Your gallery wall looks awesome.
I to am not keen on looking at myself in a mirror but have lots of them too in my house and I prefer huge ones. I just love looking at a space with mirrors not only do they give an illusion of a bigger space but they add so much charm and glam. Your mirrors are so lovely.

I'm the same way. Really don't like looking at myself in mirrors (yikes, how did I get so old haha) but I LOVE mirrors. Thanks for stopping by my blog. Blessings from Missouri!!!

hmmm. I have too many clocks and you may have too many mirrors. A psychologist might have a field day with either of us. Loved seeing another view of your lovely home. Would it be too much of a pun to say it reflects well on you?
