PASHMINA

(all images are via google as my photos are still in boxes)

I love to bring back "sussies" to my friends and loved ones when I go on a neat trip

The first time Mr. PV and I traveled to Paris the
Pashmina Shawl was all the rage!  And I was majorly seduced by them!

they made the most perfect and elegant gift to bring home
easy to pack
light
pretty
fun

no longer are Pashminas
hard to come by...in fact I can buy something very similar at
my local Alco store (not a REAL one of course)
They are inexpensive enough to wear as a swim suit cover or to a little league game where you might drip chili dogs and sno cones on them...
...and to have one in every color for every occasion!

Pashmina refers to a type of fine cashmere wool and the textiles made from it and was first invented in India. The name comes from Pashmineh (پشمینه), made from Indian pashm ("wool"). The wool comes from changthangi or Pashmina sheep, which is a special breed of sheep indigenous to high altitudes of the Himalayas in Nepal, Pakistan and Northern India. Pashmina shawls are hand spun, woven and embroidered in Nepal and Kashmir, and made from fine cashmere fibre.

So?  How did they end up all the rage in Paris?
I'm not sure, but they were and still are!
and I still want one in every color...love the paisley!

I've loved scarves forever - remember wearing little ones tied around the neck with an open blouse back in the 80's. But when I discovered the pashmina, I knew I had found my favourite scarf. Love the video!!

Love these! Pashmina's are great for the pacific northwest on those cold, grey days or a summers night. Such pretty colors you are showing!

Ahh~ The Pashminas!!
Only if it got cold enough to wear them....
so, they sit in a drawer, yet another yr...
hoping one day it will actually get cold enough to wear one...
So, I use my cool cotton ones in the evenings.. I love how you can wear them with even a tank top. I even wrap them on my hips at the beach..
thanks for the tutorial .. loved it.

Love, love, love!! I have a couple of them but my favorite is my red scarf. They have the perfect fabric even for Florida. I typically wear it as a shawl when I go out to dinner or the movies. I love the way it provides the perfect amount of warmth in winter or even in the summer when the air conditioning might be to chilly in a restaurant or theater.
Love this video.
Visiting via Anita's party.
