HE STAYED

When I crashed my car
this is the book I was headed to buy my kids for Christmas stockings

for newlyweds very much in love and now a baby coming in the late summer

and another sweet set of newlyweds
who are paying for each other to obtain their masters at Texas Tech
*after work*

and for two who just might be ready to let love live again

and because I would not give a book to someone that I haven't read

or try to push marriage if I didn't believe in it myself

I did in fact read it...
that snowy Christmas Day
and I did in fact find that one line that made me stop and think
"ah...yes...this...this is going to be worth my time"

When Jesus was at the cross looking down below
at those that were persecuting Him
He stayed

If there is anything at all that I believe to my core and would want to teach my children about
LOVE
it's this
1.  Love is not a feeling, it is a choice
2.  Love is not about what I get but rather what I will give
3.  Love is about staying when it's easier to leave
4.  Sometimes we need love the most when we deserve it the least
5.  We can be mighty with our tender mercy

I have failed at love
I have learned about love the hard way
but mostly I have learned about love the easy way
and I have loved love all of my life

I believe in love

and I believe that love
is a gift from God
and that it should be treated and honored as such

and when you choose it
you will get to feel it too!

I do believe that love is a choice of committing and staying the course. That may be the most important character trait to look for in a partner. That's a great gift to give your children.

A perfect post for this Valentine's morning, my friend. After my divorce 10 years ago, I thought I would never love again. But I chose to open my heart and love. So many people waste their lives NOT loving. Love is a choice and I'm glad I made it.

AMEN AMEN. I will be married 31 years in March and it is ONLY possible when we allow the grace of God to lead us in what choices we make once we make those vows, isn't it my dear?

YOUR PICTURE IS LOVELY of you and your husband! AND....thank you for coming to visit me. I sense that YOU understood that I was merely translating a song into English words and photos...(I think some people are thinking it is how I FEEL ABOUT MY HUSBAND!)YIKES!!!!

I put up an EXPLANATION to avoid that thought! Thank you for understanding my purpose.
