Untouched Paris Apartment Discovered after 70 years. Includes Painting worth $3.4M
the above were the headlines...can you even begin to imagine?
do you ever watch the Antique Roadshow? We watch it every Monday night during NFL commercials and last night a person brought a dusty old oil on canvas that had been at the top of her bookshelf for over 20 years...worth....
$300,000.00
three.hundred.thousand.dollars
what would you do???
I can look in this Paris apartment and find all kinds of treasures!
I am especially drawn to this emu...although it could be a young ostrich chick
it's hard to tell as it looks a bit dusty..the more I look the more I lean toward ostrich
caught forever as a 3-6 month old
where is that painting???
could this be it?
I wonder if this was her apartment?
I'm guessing this apartment is full..
FULL
of things that would interest me for a very long time!
do you have a hidden treasure???

That apt. fascinates me! It's the strangest story and everything in there is amazing. I'm afraid that painting would be sold if it was mine.
Love Antique Roadshow. I was able to see them in Nashville a few years at a Country Living Fair. Of course, I had nothing for appraisal. My junk is truly junk that I love.

It's really amazing, I found this story several months ago and I could't belive it. Wonderful

Oh yes, I remember reading on this a while back! Imagine? I am at this very moment....HI GINA!
They finally found my family's long lost apartment. Everything there belongs to us :) Ooops, it was just a dream.
Happy New Year, Gina!

The apartment is amazing!!
but...
the emu freaks me out...LOL
Happy New year...
Wow, what an apartment! Lots of treasures and I like the Emu too:)
I had not heard about the Paris apartment…..how did it remain closed for so long??? Wow.
I saw this article about a year ago and my first feeling was sadness. Sadness that such a beautiful environment has been behind closed doors for so long. Sadness for the owner who didn't have family with whom to share these treasures.
No hidden treasures here - although we did find an old textbook from the 20's in the garage attic. Does that count?
As for that painting - SOLD!!!
It looks just as one imagines a Paris apartment should look, doesn't it? Love the furniture, especially that large mirror! I would sell the painting - both of them. The 3.4 million dollar one, I would be afraid of someone stealing it, and the 300,000 dollar one, I would be afraid that the painter's popularity might wane (I don't know much about art and it's fluctuations, so probably it would be better out of my hands anyway).
Oh my gosh this is absolutely amazing. It's like something out of a movie!!
What an amazing story....and, like many others, for THAT kind of money, I would be selling the painting..:)
I am curious about the name of your blog..? I will google to see if I can find out what it means. :)
