THE GARAGE SALE

This was no ordinary garage sale!

When we arrived at the Been residence to begin our fun weekend
hubby said to me..."ooo there's a garage sale down the street"
to which I replied.."maybe I'll walk down later"

expensive mistake!

After we had skulked about all over Lubbock looking for cool stuff
since we need more cool stuff..really we do
Mattie and I made it down to her neighbor's house...
Sandra..who is from Columbia..the country

and this is what I found..the photo does not do it justice

Table...$30
EXACTLY what I have been looking all over for
$30...
S.O.L.D.
but the hairstylist that bought it was to be back by 1 PM
with cash and if she didn't return..the table was mine!

I literally, I hate to admit it, but I literally went back to Mattie's in the quiet of my room and said a prayer
"I want that table...please oh please oh please let me have that table...please?"

but there was other cool stuff to buy!

like this cut lead decanter

to join hub's collection of vintage bar ware

and a set of glass tables that I put beside guest room bed
$30 for the pair

a piece to an old piano...where they foot pedals are? not sure, but
is this not an awesome architectural piece?

wine crates..by the dozen..we only took 3
we had golf clubs!

well...as it turns out, the hairstylist came back, cash in hand and picked up all her stuff
including the cool table
I literally, I hate to admit it, but I literally begged hubby to go beg her to buy it...right off her truck
reluctantly, he did and he offered her $75...she took it...if it had been me I would have said
NO WAY
but she took the money which proves
prayer works...even when you are being a spoiled brat

yep..this photo is in
MY GARAGE!

we also found this wonderful picture at a neat garden store

that I do believe I will hang on the Jerico wall instead of the Poppy
which I originally planned

Hey....that looks like some pretty cool stuff all stacked up there
waiting waiting waiting

and speaking of waiting

Hello Gina:
It is so true that the early bird at these sales really does catch the worm. How fortunate that you had a second chance to make the table yours!

So glad you got the table! Persistence always pays off…and so does Prayer! Love the piano leg! Could be a great table base! Garage sales can be so much fun! Makes me want to have one myself! Hope you are doing well! Sorry about the waiting!

Wow, that was quite a yard sale. You scored some great items! I'm also loving that white door in your garage behind the bench you bought. Fabulous!

I think $75 for that table is a steal. It's gorgeous. You're not going to paint it, are you? I think the patina is perfect the way it is.

Great finds!! I once picked up a wine crate from a garbage pile on the sidewalk in Paris - packed it in my suitcase and stuffed all the clothes around it. My husband thinks that was the start of my garage sale addiction.

That table was meant to be yours!! Delighted you got it in the end and it didn't turn into the 'one that got away'!! great sale - I cannot get wine crates where I live - yours are lovely!!
