THE SOUL OF 822

Sometimes along the way I feel as though we have tampered with the soul of this old house

but often to it, I make humble and earnest apologies

in the form of

~*~

making sure there are artisans who care as much as we do

embracing what came before us

while creating the things we love for how our lives here will be

building upon its old foundation to make it better today and for many many more years
with things not seen by the eye

putting our mouth where our money is

living and I mean really living
through the seasons

placing the simple organic treasures I find in a place of prominence

constructing to make up for the destructing

nurturing what was here
dreaming about it what's to come
caring and sharing

and most of all

adding to it

soul
 my own soul
our soul

I agree with Bonnie, looking forward to see the end result.
It gives such great satisfaction to live in your creation, and I know with all the hard work and planning, you are also enjoying it! Colette x

How amazing to look back over the progress of the project and see just how far you've come in leaps and bounds. In the next portrait can we see you pose with a chainsaw please?

Loved this post...I think the soul of your home is very pleased with all the love and care it's been given.
I love that you use artisans who love their work and take great pride in what they do. That's hard to come by these days.
I'm looking forward to watching the progress. :)
