MIA N NAPA

Talk about out of touch...
Mr. PV gave me a trip for my birthday in early summer that we were excited for
all the months long

but we had to wait on a good time for him to be gone from work
as if....

finally...the day came and off we went!

I have been to California a time or two, but never to Napa
and I have to tell you it was certainly on my
to do list!

I did not take but a few photos...so all of these are via google
not at all that I had issues with focusing a camera
and let me share with you if you have never been...
GO
it is
B.E.A.U.T.I.F.U.L.
&
F.U.N.
&
A.B.I.T.I.N.T.O.X.I.C.A.T.I.N.G.

we ate
we drank

and we be'd merry
our new friends Roxanne and Bill
organic growers

can you believe we found a vineyard owned by my clan
from Indian Territory?
"One went east, one went west and
well....one fell down in the cookoo nest"
(that would be me)

so...we had a car...and this little valley is so much better explored
if you can do it this way...we just meandered up and down the valley
over and over and over again...tasting the fruit and food
YUM!
and then

time to leave but with an addition we had not planned

we were so close and so
not thirsty
that we wanted to see

The Golden Gate Bridge
The Painted Ladies

China Town
thank you Syria for making the trip so easy!
we ended our stay with
BEER
and the most delicious
oysters on the half shell

but as always

good to be home!
Hey...I missed ya'll!

Sounds heavenly! It is on my LIST as well. I've been to SF though and loved it. My clan hails from Oregon and we always stopped in SF on the way, flew in from DC to SF then a short hop to Medford, OR. So glad you got away and it makes home so much more delicious, doesn't it?

Oh my goodness this looks like it was the trip of a lifetime! I can't even begin to imagine how beautiful it must have been. Napa Valley is on my bucket list :)

Welcome back, Gina! I love SF and I've been many places in Cali but never to Napa. I'm so glad that you had a fun trip. I'm hungry and thirsty now. ;)

Loved your comment earlier! ( i think!) I am dying to go to Napa…even thought we lived right there I was too young to go…I had to babysit my siblings while my parents went! Now that I will be half a century next spring that is where I think I want Jim to take me! Sounds like a lot of fun! I would end it in San francisco as well simply to show him the places we would visit!

Napa is definitely on my bucket list. Been to SF and didn't love it - but then it was probably the company (my ex) more than the town. lol

Oh Gina, I am from Los Angeles, but I never went up north until my honeymoon, 31 years ago! Then about 4 years ago, I finally got a chance to go to KORBEL winery for some champagne testing. SHAZAMMMMMMMMMMM! This region looks like parts of France and I'm glad you enjoyed yourself! Thank you or rather, MERCI for coming to visit me! Anita

What an awesome vacation - memories to last a lifetime. I've only been to California twice and neither time was lucky enough to visit Napa. Third time's the charm, right?! Great post. -- Jan

I'm from Sonoma, the valley over the hill from Napa. Honestly, Sonoma is a much prettier and charming town than Napa and the wineries are older and we like to think better.

The slogan in Sonoma is "Sonoma makes wine, Napa makes auto parts!"
