LOFT STAIRS ALMOST DONE

Seems like ages ago

that the art loft looked like this

and the stairs
looked like this
(oopsie...coffee break going on!)

I remember how excited I was to have sheet rock
I got so spoiled along the way I suppose
because then I wanted

Paint!
Holy Jerico!  Paint color that is!
Do you remember this old table I bought at a garage sale in Lubbock?

and the sweet birds...the painting is still wrapped up
I actually might change the wall color due to this painting
it's not the one I chose the paint color around and it's a bit too Kelly
Just playing around with what I have that I might put here
that's my favorite part of it all!
and after the paint...well, (spoiled me) I wanted the stairs to be kind of
special

So we got some tiles

16 different patterns

one design for each stair

Pretty colorful
the brick wall will be painted once the trim and molding are up
although...I'm kind of liking the raw look of the brick
this brick wall was covered with stone...so lots of mortar on it
it's original to the old house built in 1921
the railing is plain old sucker rod...as in water well sucker rod...and cedar
See those cute little stair lights?
Just like the Lyric Theatre
they cast the softest glow for those who wander during the night

Just have to
stain the concrete (or lay tile...still undecided)
paint/glaze the wall or hang the original art choice
install the air vents
and a few other little odds and ends
but
for the most part
it's a nearly complete project!

You are looking at my excuse to not
go to the gym to work out because
I imagine that I do my own version of the
stair stepper more here than I ever did there

my butt is sore most days
and about the same size either way

I love that your house shows so much personality and whimsey! Love those tile stairs and the green wall color and all of your cool acquisitions. None of my biz--but I love the brick wall raw. All those steps are a definite butt blaster.

oh my gosh things are coming along beautifully!! The painting that is still wrapped, I copied a painting from a calendar at Hallmark and it was THAT painting, I'm certain, its beautiful, and best yet, I had to paint my from memory and dang it I think I got the colors pretty close, do you know who painted that, I didn't buy the calendar the day I saw it , I just banked the memory away and painted it, I would love to know who's beautiful work it is,

Love it, Gina. I'm really liking the rustic look of the unpainted brick with the tiles on the stairs - the reds pick tie it together well.
Can't wait to see the glazed walls - what are you using to glaze them?

And I also use the same type of excuse for skipping the gym - why do I need to work out when I'm up and down a ladder all day stripping wallpaper, painting cabinets, lifting furniture? But I'm still not losing any weight.

Happy Weekend, my friend. We're off to choose kitchen countertops!!

Looks great Gina! What a fun style you have :) and I chuckled when you said .."excuse for not going to the gym" .. We are still in the process of a (small compared to what you're doing) kitchen re-do. It IS a workout and I have no energy for much else after working in the house all day! Ya know what I'm say-in??
